1. Belongingness
Personal Project (2022)
This is a comic book about a sense of belonging or sense of comfort and safety.
The seven stories are based on the memories and experiences of me and my friends.
︎Story 01: Walk My Dog"Walking the dog was the closest thing to a normal time I enjoyed during these tumultuous three years."
︎Story 02: Fish Tank Every corner of the tank becomes a secret place where she can place her emotions.
The water dilutes the sorrow; the small fish lift the gloom, and the newly sprouted plants make everything beautiful.
︎Story 03: Lights When she is alone in a foreign country, the lamp in her bedroom is the warmest family member to welcome her home each day.
︎Story 04: Memory Box She had a box that contained her childhood. It was split apart by the divorce of her parents.
The memories are not happy, but they make her whole.
︎Story 05: Cafe
"For a long time, the nearby cafe felt like my home."
︎Story 06: Bed "The bedding and teddy bear came with me to the UK. They are like Doraemon’s Dokodemo Door, which brought me peace of mind when arrived."
︎Story 07: Bedside Table For someone who has never had a full personal space since childhood, the bedside table is the last stand.
